Destrophy

Yeah so I'm out in Palo drinking beer one night. We are talking about this, that and the other thing. My friends neighbor mentions he is in a band. I kind of shrug it off, thinking sure dude. In my head I'm picturing some low rent garage band. Well as it is, I go to Palo a fair amount. I'm there another night probably a few weeks later. We talk about the band a little more. I whip out the iPhone and download a song and play it off of some site he gives me. It's a cover, but damn it sounds pretty good. Now I'm thinking, cool so it's a decent cover band. Well thats the last cover I've heard from them. A few weeks even after that my bud is playing this cd. It sounds awesome, kind of different... but drawn from a lot of familiar influences. I figure out that this is Phil's band. I was pretty impressed. They had a show in Des Moines, but I couldn't make it. Next time I see him, he mentions a show here in Cedar Rapids. I decide to buy the CD that night. I think that was a Wednesday, and the show was Saturday. Well this happens to be last week. That CD hasn't come out of my player in my car (yeah I still listen to ESPN news on the way to work). It's been in my iPhone every since too. I can't get it out of my head. I went to the show, and it was better than the CD. I think my ears are still ringing though... yeah I'm already deaf. Oh. sorry I'm such a shitty blogger. I have to get this link on my iPhone, then I think I will update it more. I've even written down topics, but haven't had the time to follow up. I'll try to get better, cuz I think I have an interesting brain. Oh the band's name is the topic. Look em up.

In the begining

Well today I decided I'd start my blog. I'm not sure why. I guess I'm kind of bored tonight. Wondering where all the people I once knew have gone and what they are doing. I'm not much of a myspace fan.... but tonight I was drawn to it. The girl and I went to Sam's Club. She stayed out too late last night at girl's night. She was dead tired, poor girl. We got home, she pretty much went straight to bed. So I searched my space for Waverly Shell Rock Sr High School. Yep, that's where I went. I ran across a fair amount of familiar faces. I was surprised to see how close and how far everyone was from home. I was even surprised to see how many people lived within like 15 miles of where I now live. I've never ran across these people, although one of them I was wondering if I made out with one of her friends a bar a few years ago. Crazy times. So everyone in the world can read this? That's a bit frightening. But I really doubt the server will crash because of the massive number of hits to neilgs.blogger.com. I'll have to remember to be careful what I wrote... just today I saw that you should consider anything published publicly should be considered PERMINATE. I wish I could spell.
